Rey and Kylo Ren – two halves of the same protagonist.  But if they’re both right, then who is wrong?  

What if the face of true evil wears an entirely different kind of mask?  What if it’s something with impossibly deep roots – a corruption so insidious, it could hide itself in plain sight?  What if it’s the very same military industrial complex needed to fight this war in the first place?

What if it’s simply… greed?

War is a Machine, internally combusting and turning itself over.  Is balancing the Force enough to stop it?

Is saving what we love even enough?

I posted about this canon-verse fic in August and I am really enthralled by its progression. Kylo Ren is an intelligent, strategic and politically-savvy Supreme Leader (he got it from his momma), and Rey is torn by her commitment to the Resistance and her desire to be with Kylo. This a slow, simmering burn kind of fic but in the latest update, they finally kiss and the culmination is at once sweet and sexy.

I love the world that Chridder has made here – I’m a sucker for fics with a great sense of setting or place – and her canon characters always feel true in their motivations and story arcs. I highly recommend!

P.S. Chapter 9 can be read as a stand-alone and it’s my absolute favourite ❤️

Chapter Eighteen is started, but I’m not sure how I’m liking or so far. But it’s ReyloWriMo, dammit, and I’ve gotta write.

I have to change my mindset. The point is to WRITE. If I hate it, I can change it and write something else.

Just. Keep. Writing.

Brainstorm with words, not your head and imagination. Well… still use your imagination, just do it externally.

This is very different from my usual process of staring off into space until I have exactly what I want to say.

Write now. Edit later.

Story Summary:

Reincarnated characters from The Last Jedi cross paths on Earth. Rey is referred to a specialist in hypnosis and EMDR to deal with her recurring nightmares. There is something vaguely familiar to her about the charismatic hypnotist, Dr. Ben Solo…

Past and present lives collide. Ben must choose between love and revenge, while Hux stalks Rey for his own devious agenda. Echoes of the past reappear in the present, and Rey must struggle to find her identity in her present life before it’s too late.
