When did you start this blog:Ā When I started writing The Machine.Ā I lurked out here quite a bit as a Reylo after TFA, but I never made my own account.Ā I just bookmarked the hell out of people.Ā I follow all of those people today =)Ā A few even followed me back.Ā Feels good to be a contributor now, and colleagues with people I looked up to. Anyhoo, I started publishing The Machine back in Jan of 2018.
Kylo is the absolute king of projection. When he screams at Finn for being a traitor, heās screaming at his own weakness, his inability to banish the light, and maybe even his own failure to punish Finn on Jakku (remember, Kylo looks right at him and just moves on). Finn had the strength to break free of his past and forge an entirely new path. Kylo canāt, and so he hates Finn for achieving the kind of freedom and purpose he canāt seem to find no matter what he does.Ā
Itās one of the reason theyāre such good dramatic foils, honestly.
I completely agree with this. Finn is everything Kylo has failed to do.
Finn also brought Han to Starkiller, putting Kylo in the position to kill him. Iām positive this is another reason why Kylo is so angry at him during their lightsaber fight: he blames Finn for Hanās death. Itās part of the larger issue of projection but worth pulling out on itās own.
Nothing to add, just agreed 100% with all of this.

Like, I mean it guys – I am finally, FINALLY, publishing lines I wrote at the conception of this fic nearly a year ago.Ā Itās amazing.Ā Itās taken forever to finally pull some of these lines of dialogue out, freshen them up, and see them in context, but now theyāre here, showing up at last.Ā The feeling is indescribable. I hope that doing this challenge will help me share that excitement with more people.
This fic doesnāt get recād very often.Ā If ever.Ā Thereās a few kind souls who gift me with their charity, and Iām eternally grateful for them.Ā They are the life blood of this fic, and they are very dear to me.Ā Ā
But my last chapter got a record low number of comments on it.Ā This fic is truly, in every sense of the term, a very slow burn and probably has very little to draw someone to it if theyāre not really into it for a long, intelligent, plot-driven read.Ā Hell, my reylo isnāt even at the kissing stage yet, LOL.Ā And I canāt tell you how badly I wish I could get people to read this fic and really give it a try – I cannot tell you how badly I wish I could see a chapter update get over 30 notes.Ā I canāt tell you how badly I wish I could even get 200 kudos after almost a year of publication.Ā I canāt tell you how badly I wish I could feel like this labor of love isnāt sitting buried under a pile of literally over nine thousand other fics, LOL.Ā Because, letās face it – it is.Ā And Iām probably in good company with a ton of other exceptionally high quality pieces of work that never see the light of day.
But I donāt want it badly enough to sacrifice the story or where itās heading.Ā So, it is what it is. I love this story, Iām very excited for itās progress, and I hope itāll find a larger audience someday.

Got around to another chapter update. Had recently gotten Laid offā¦ AGAIN. (So fucking tired ofĀ āwinningā in T/rumpās economy). So Iāve been job hunting and doing some freelance stuff and had to put the writing on the back burner for now. But Iāve got this chapter, so not all bad!
Synopsis:
One of Hondoās pirates, fed up with his leadership, looks for a way out of the gang when an opportunity working on the Millennium Falcon presents itself. Ā Talos Ren finds his targets and a whole lot more than he bargained for when Kylo Ren and Rey take him to the hidden Jedi temple.
Excerpt:
āOh youāve got to be kidding.ā He complained when his visor compensated for the blinding red and yellow pillars of flame and then he saw them. Kylo Ren and the Jedi girl.
āMaster?ā He asked with genuine confusion.
āTalos?ā The former Supreme Leader replied.
āYou know him?ā The Jedi girl added, then a moment later, āHeās a Knight isnāt he?ā
āYes he is and thatās a problem. If heās found us the others arenāt far behind.ā
āActuallyā,ā Talos began to protest.
āThen we need to kill him,ā the girl said.
His heart shot into his throat as he pointed an accusing finger at her. āNow hold on a kriffinā minute!ā
Kylo gave her a curious look, an almost disapproving look before suggesting, āNo, we need to learn all he knows firstā,ā then he fixed him with a murderous stare, āā then we kill him.ā
Talos was on the verge of panic but was composed enough to say, āLook boss, I know you have reason to want me dead right now, but a word of warning to you, thereās a giant eight-legged monster chasing me and if we donāt get out of here, weāre all bug soup.ā
āEight-legged creature?ā The girl said with disdain. āHer name is Archie and sheās the guardian of this temple. Youāre the intruder here, scum!ā
Bewildered by what he was hearing, and slightly more bewildered by the fact that the two of them were only half dressed, Talos was unable to keep his confusion in check. āWhat? You have aā¦ name for that thing? Are you kiddenā me right now?ā
āNo, sheās not,ā Kylo replied. āNow get up; weāve got a lot to talk about.ā
This oneās on my to-read list!!!! Ā It has a VERY similar feel to mine, so Iām glad to see there are others out there who think like I do! Ā VERY excited to get started on this one!
