I’ve decided it’s been long enough since I made the last Reylos to reblog callout.

Reminder : this initiative seeks to give new authors/new fics visibility and built a reader base for everyone. I will make a post with your fics and reblog it so it gives a chance for fics to be seen.

RULES ARE SIMPLE (please read carefully):

1)You need to match ONE of the following items:

  • It is your first ever reylo fic.
  • You are a new author
  • You’re not a new author but you have a new fic to promote with low kudos (less than 250 approx.)

High fantasy AU with faeries and magic, courtly romance, knights, Princess Rey and black-winged Ben Solo. Literally every SW I could think of makes a cameo as some kind of faerie, it’s fun. Focus on Reylo, with a dash of Finnrose. Mind the tags and TW for mentions of PTSD, past assault and abuse, and gorey violence. WIP.

A Tale of Tooth and Claw

ABO with actual werecreatures, modern setting. Very explicit, light BDSM, alpha/omega heat stuff, blood and gore, but I’ve been told the action sequences are highly entertaining. There’s a sequel in progress as well.

Corruption Works Both Ways

Cannon-compliant set post TLJ, closest I’ve gotten to slow burn but be prepared when it picks up. Force power couple established about mid-way, then they pick up some apprentices. Ahsoka is here and some snarky Force ghosts, lightsaber-building and sidequests with Phasma and the Resistance gang. Also contains the Khawapashi and some other OC from an Edge of the Empire game I’ve been running for awhile. Warning, this is epic-length and has an even longer sequel. Please mind tags and TW before each chapter.

Reylo Writer Get to Know You Game

I’m still newish to the Reylo fandom and would LOVE to meet more writers!

I thought we could play a game, sort of like wearing name tags at a big party, to introduce ourselves.  #Reylo Writer Game

Brand/Tone: i suppose you could say i have two modes: angsty smut and goofy smut. occasionally i skip the sex and go straight for the heartbreak, but i almost always give my characters happy endings (and when i don’t, there’ll be plenty of warning in the tags!). i’m very interested in linguistics and language-learning and that… definitely shows, in my fics.

Works:

it’s an angsty, violent, smutty russian mafia au.

rey and ben are space virgins; rey knows some stuff about sex from the fauna of Jakku, ben knows some stuff about sex from holoporn. they decide to have some sex. smutty hilarity ensues.

(rffa fic) a story about the three deaths kylo ren might experience– literal and metaphorical, and in ways that connect to the stages of a collapsing star. lots of sadness but happy ending (really)!

Agree with all of the above (except mine – you have to like Phantom of the Opera for Dark Angel to work for you).

It kind of depends WHAT you are looking for in your Reylo reading. Do you like AUs, and if so, in the Star Wars universe or real life universe? Are you looking for more erotic stories or comedy? Or Goth? Mythology? Hurt and comfort Kylo or slashing and dashing Kylo? Bodice ripper or love, or both? Dark Kylo? Dark Rey? Vampires? We have such a talented bunch of authors in this community! 

I stopped counting bookmarks when I went over 240, and have no idea how many I’ve read! I have some favorites, but they always depend on my mood! I haven’t done an updated list in a long time, and I’ll get there, but when I do, I take my time writing about why I liked each, or do a whole review on them, like I did for @juuls​ awesome Codega (kylux). 

Some fairly new ones I’ve found recently:

Son of Darkness by blueenvelops935 – I don’t know the author, have never found him or her on Tumblr, haven’t got an answer to comments, but whoever it is, they’re good! Might just be an AO3 writer with no Tumblr. I’ve read 28 out of 63 chapters, and it is COMPLETED, so there’s that. I like the writing style. 

Hypothermia by @lucidlucy​ just updated – four chapters of well written smut, writes Reylo erotica that sizzles. WIP.

The Lady and the Monster by @3todream3​ is a great AU of Ben and Rey in the corporate world – fast paced and very sexy. Also, check out Accelerant by her if you like Ben Solo as a fireman.Both are WIP.

Songs of Innocence Songs of Wisdom by @cosmo-gonika. Romantic, erotic, villains and heroes, twist near the end. WIP, canon compliant. Slow burn.

Unbidden by @perrydowning. WIP and you’re probably already reading it! Fast paced, canon-compliant, and both romantic and erotic. Thwarted  by same author is COMPLETE and I also liked that one – “bird in a gilded cage” basically with sex, pining, and lush descriptions. Oh, and she added in a cat toward the second half which made me melt.

See, this is getting long already…

Don’t Feed the Bears by @riaria84 for a wonderful Canadian Reylo AU that will have you laughing and wanting to move to Canada. WIP

This is How Life Strikes by @greyforceuser is a new WIP that has me hooked. It’s an AU set in the corporate world with Kylo working for an ad agency with a lot of money and Rey trying to raise money for a nonprofit who waitresses for extra money. Love it so far!

Deadbeat by @reylo-ology (inexplicabletrousers on AO3) is an AU that is a social justice AU that is a heartbreaker WIP right now that I’m obsessed with; Kylo is the guardian of his two sisters and Rey is a teacher and Snoke needs to DIE! I can’t talk about it.

Strategic Alliances by Wissixwe remains one of my top favorite stories ever, one of the first I read. It’s complete. Beautiful, lyrical writing with action and world building that never took off the way it should have, but she wasn’t on Tumblr and I wasn’t either when she was writing it. Canon compliant up to the point TLJ came out and then she did a sequel to it, SKYWALKERS, which is a WIP. Cerebral and intelligent with attention paid to the older characters also, which I appreciated.

The Mating Service by @albastargazer. My first fiction about an A/B/O, but honestly you can read it and not even know what that is and you’ll be fine. It’s beautiful writing with a firefighter AU and sort of “soulmates.” There is a lot of humor and also some pulls at the heart strings and a #MeToo moment, so I don’t know how to classify except to say READ IT! Complete, or just about complete.

The Machine by Vespaer @vespaer77 is a very well written and intelligent Reylo story based on the concept that “war is a machine.” Canon compliant. Flying under the radar, which is too bad, because it’s so GOOD!

To speed this up – Everything by these authors:

DragonWhiskers  on AO3, @belovedunderwing on Tumblr. I’ve read everything she’s written. Paper Faces, her Phantom of the Opera AU, was probably my favorite. I and another commenter begged her to write one, and she did!!! She also writes a series called “Monsters Are We All” that is equal parts erotic and thought provoking as she challenges preconceived notions, and a lot of erotica. Just search through her works.

Cora Riley @corariley Same thing, have read all of hers. Writes erotica and also Dark!Kylo, so look through her works but read her tags and determine if that’s your thing. I happen to love thrillers, so I love her current ones. 

Terapid @terapid​  Again, I’ve read them all. Great sense of humor as well as action and erotica. You can’t go wrong with one of his. Unless you hate swearing. 

GrlieGirl     @grlie-girl​ Check out The Fiancee (sequel to The Escort (Pretty Woman AU, Complete) and Reckless Behavior, WIP.  Love everything she’s written! Funny, erotic, and great descriptions of hotels, restaurants, clothing and all the details, usually with links provided so you can see how she imagines it. 

I’ve left out a bunch. A whole bunch. When you have over 240 bookmarks at last count, that happens. I try to update the lists, but if I left someone out, it wasn’t on purpose and I’m sure I’ll update again. This has taken up a couple of hours now, so I’m stopping!
