Reylo Phonebook

As this site goes up in flames, the wonderful and talented @reyl-hoe suggested making a sort of “Reylo phonebook” for all of us to put our social media/ways to contact us should we all go under.

As someone who loves spreadsheets, who loves this community, and who loves all of you, I would love to take on this task.

@the-reylo-void, @star-beam, and whoever else was in that thread – put me down for the job.

ANOTHER IMPORTANT NOTE

Since January of 2015, I have been compiling an archive of Star Wars art. So far this has been secret and precious to me, but because of the recent announcement I would like to offer my archive to all who wish for it.

This archive may not include everyone’s work, but it does include a lot of work from artists who are no longer here, and art that may soon be unavailable. It is organized by pairing, then by artist, then by AU.

If anyone would like access, let me know and I will find a way to get it to you. If there is something specific you are looking for, I can probably find that, too.

This archive has several thousand pieces in it, so there’s a good chance I have it.

(I have never and will never repost anything – this was just an archive for my own organization since I can’t be bothered to scroll through all of my likes.)

Here is a Google Form for everyone to fill out their info! The info will then be placed into corresponding spreadsheets. It will be organized by kind of content you create, or if you’re just one of those wonderful and important supporters!

I hope this helps! Please reblog to spread the form around so we can get as many people as possible! (I know that there are a few specific ones for writers and for artists, but I know of several people who don’t create content who want to stay in the loop!)

twitter etiquette for new users

  • replying is how you make friends! reply to anything you want and be friendly. don’t make rude jokes if you’re not friends already though!
  • quote retweeting is a no-no. when you “retweet with a comment” it’s not liked by content creators because it makes a new tweet out of their tweet and they don’t get the likes and retweets they would get if you’d just retweeted it straight up. if you want to comment on a retweet, reply to it or post a new tweet starting with “LRT” which stands for “last retweet” (it’s fine to quote retweet dumb memes and so on.)
  • you can make your tweets private. this means no one but your followers will be able to see what you post and no one will be able to retweet your content.  you can switch back and forth between private and public at will. some people make a separate private account to tweet personal stuff and let mutuals follow it only. it’s a good way to keep things separate.
  • what is privatter? privatter is a third party web app that content creators can allow to be attached to their twitter. it lets them tweet content that they can make exclusive to logged in users, followers, mutuals, or a specific list of users. as long as you are logged in to twitter and fall into the intended category, you’ll be able to see it.
  • you can mute people you follow. (and those you don’t, ofc.) you can also mute words and phrases and entire conversations. if you mute someone you follow and they reply to you, that reply will still show up in your notifications. it’s a good way to keep the peace!
  • you can limit notifications to people who follow you or to mutuals. (notifications from people you follow will still show up regardless of which option you’ve selected.)
  • miscellaneous tips and warnings: if you accidentally unfollow and refollow someone, it won’t show up in their notifications as long as it’s within a couple minutes. no more accidental stuff. everyone can see who everyone follows so watch out. people will know if you unfollow. if you want to report someone and want them gone forever, report a tweet where they used a curse word. screenshotting tweets for harassment is a no-no and can get you banned. don’t be lame. don’t be a dick. vaguing others is generally really bad form and so is complaining about content within a fandom you’re in. use the mute tools at your disposal and don’t be a spoiler. you won’t come back from a rep like that and everyone sees everything.

that’s it! happy tweeting!!

how do i keep all my content together on twitter?

  • threads are your best friend!! you make a tweet with your commission info and links and so on and pin it to the top of your page. then reply to that tweet with a copy and pasted link to the tweet where you posted the art/fic/etc you want to not lose. reply to that new tweet with the next piece of artwork and so on. you can also make a unique hashtag for your content to use when you post, so that when you search that hashtag later you’re able to see just your art. good luck!

Oh this is good to know.  I have no idea how twitter works really.

I’ll be on pillowfort, AO3 and discord

jesssssah:

Hi all,

Just a note to say thanks for the support you’ve shown my stuff in the short time I’ve been here on tumblr. I haven’t been active for a couple of weeks due to App Store removal of the app and I don’t plan to stay here now NSFW is going. I am still Jessa on AO3 and on Discord, and you can find me there. I will be on Pillowfort when they return, hopefully under same or similar name but I’ll add it to AO3 so there’s a contact listed. I hope we can all somehow stay in touch. It’s been wonderful to meet so many interesting people here and I’m so grateful for the time spent (never wasted!!!!)

Lots of love to you,
Jessa xxxx

In response to the NSFW ban being enacted by Tumblr Staff, on December 17th 2018 I propose that we all log off of our Tumblr accounts for 24 hours.

The lack of respect and communication between staff and users is stark. Users have been begging staff to delete the porn bot outbreak, which has plagued the website for well over a year. The porn bots oftentimes send people asks and messages, trying to get them to go to a website full of viruses. They also spam advertisements on others posts.

Users have also begged that Tumblr ban neo-nazis, child porn, and pedophiles, all which run rampant on the site. The site/app got so bad that it was taken off the app store.

However, instead of answering the users, Tumblr has instead taken the liberty to ban all NSFW content, regardless of age. But users have already run into issues of their SFW content being marked as sensitive and being flagged as NSFW, not allowing them to share their work.

Not only does this discriminate again content creators, but it also discriminates against sex workers. Disgustingly, the ban will be enacted on December 17 which is also International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers.

This ban is disgusting, and while I (and plenty of others) welcome porn bots and child porn being banned, the Tumblr filtration system is broken. It tags artistic work’s nipples as NSFW (when it is art), it tags SFW art as NSFW (when it is not), and does not stop the porn bots, neo-nazis and dozens of other issues.

This ban is discriminatory. This ban is ineffective. This ban is unacceptable.

To protest, log off of your Tumblr account for the entirety of November 17th. Log off at 12 am EST or 9PM PST and stay off for 24 hours. Don’t post. Don’t log on. Don’t even visit the website. Don’t give them that sweet ad revenue.

Tumblr’s stock has already taken a hard hit. Let’s make it tank. Maybe then they will listen to the users.

Reblog to signal boost! We must force change.
